Cardiovascular exercise is an
important component of overall fitness. A cardio
workout routine will consist of physical activity which
can be sustained over a prolonged period of time ideally twenty
minutes or longer. Normally such exercises will raise the
heart rate to 60-80% of one's maximum capacity which declines
with age. Cardiovascular exercises include, running,
swimming, biking, aerobics and elliptical ski
machines. Again please consult a physician prior to
engaging in any exercise program.
